Tina Frantzen - Painter

Current and Upcoming Exhibitions

Marking Time - Railway Street Studios

My solo exhibition Marking Time is now open at the Railway Street Gallery + Studios. Images of Istanbul with working drawings created from memory.

In this new body of work, I revisit through my paintings and drawings, a life changing journey to the other side of the world. Nearly 30 years ago I made my way to Greece & Turkey.

This was a journey about reconnection, self-discovery, and honoured promises. Both Santorini & Istanbul are still so profoundly engraved in my mind, the experience of the two places remain as strong reference points in my life.

Marking Time captures this sense of place, memory, and those moments in time.

'Marking Time' Exhibition opens Tuesday 19th September - Saturday 7th October
Opening Event Saturday 23rd September 3 - 5 pm.
Come and join us for apple tea, baklava and Turkish delight. All welcome.

Ephemeral Moments Ponsonby '250 Gallery' - Flier

While still exhibiting at Railways Street Studios, I have been given the opportunity to have a pop-up gallery for six months.

The new gallery - “250 Gallery” is at 250 Ponsonby Rd, Ponsonby, Auckland.

It has been repurposed from a burger joint to a freshly painted, much scrubbed and now pristine space in which I am exhibiting collections of my past and present works.

Opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday from 10- 4pm. I am present in the gallery on Fridays and Saturdays.

To celebrate we will have an opening night on Thursday 10 November from 4 - 7pm

The next exhibition at Railway Street Studios is a group show where we artists create small affordable special works to celebrate Christmas.

Come along to view the exhibition and celebrate the start of the season with an opening of “Small Things” from 11 - 3pm, 3rd December at Railway Street Studios, 8 Railway Street, Newmarket.

Railway Street Studios

Over the last few years, I have shown my artwork at the 'Railway Street Art Gallery' in Newmarket, and have really appreciated their support with my exhibition openings.

In 2019 the gallery changed its format and is now operating with 12 selected 'Railway Street Artists' who will be permanently exhibiting work as well as having solo exhibitions during the year. I am privileged to be one of those artists who will be exhibiting regularly as well as having an annual solo exhibition.
